Buffalo Bill Dam - Just outside of Cody

Buffalo Bill Dam - 5-22-14

When Scott came home from the hospital last week, we decided to postpone our build by one week so we could settle back in, catch up on sleep and do some major recuperating!

So we decided to be a tourist!!  The Buffalo Bill Dam is on the way out of Cody as if you are going to Yellowstone National Park.

Let me tell you, when we say the lake we got SO excited!!  We want so badly to get Jet Ski's and maybe someday a boat too.  And now we have a good excuse! This lake is just about 1 hour or less from where we live!!!

Inside the Visitor's Center, there is a 'mini' museum with information about the Dam plus lots of fun facts about the area too.  There is even a video about the building of the dam.

Back in OH, we were part of the Miami Valley but here in Wyoming, our 'area' is known as the Big Horn Basin.

Amy G. told us that you can find Golden Eagles out here.  I've never heard of them before, but on the way home from Red Lodge, we thought we may have seen one!!  It was flying, but it was HUGE!  Much bigger than a hawk.

We weren't positive what these were because we weren't close enough to really see them - I thought they were elk, but Scott thought they were really big deer.....  There were TONS of them on the drive from the Buffalo Bill Dam toward Wapiti.
