We've been walking our property and have found lots of deer tracks, but hadn't seen any deer till now!! We were so excited to see them. We actually saw them on 2 occasions.
I also took 2 videos of them and you can see them here on YouTube:
Deer in our Coulee!!
Deer in our Coulee!! part 2
Besides the deer, we have seen antelope, elk, pheasants, a horny toad, and some really large crows!
I also saw my first road kill on my way into town this last week. On Rt 294 that connects Clark to Powell, there is an 'open range' area where you have to watch for cattle that could be on or near the road - they are not fenced in in this area. Well, someone managed to hit and kill a full sized black angus cow!! We think they were probably driving at night and didn't see it. Here it gets much darker at night than it does in Ohio!
Coulee?
We think of then as a 'draw' or natural drainage areal, but here in Wyoming, they are referred to as a Coulee. A coulee refers to a kind of valley or drainage zone (via Wikipedia).
